Vendor Base - just an idea!

Postby Guest » Wed Aug 21, 2002 4:38 am

Sticky,

I'm the Creative Director of Wow Wee Ltd (division of Hasbro), and I just wanted to say nice website mate!!

I run all the R&D / Product Development here in Hong Kong (I come from an Industrial Design background). The only real addition to your website that I think would be of practical use, would be a vendor base list - model makers, manufacturers, printers etc. If you listed contacts both in the US and Hong Kong / China and Taiwan, you'd have a great resource for the whole Product Development trade.

All the best - Phil Duffy.

Phil,

thanks for your feedback. if you have any links to submit, i would love to add them. you can add a new topic here http://toyarts.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=4 with any toy related links and i will add them to the links pages. i am always looking for vendors to add. in fact, i have a few that i just remembered i need to add.

Hey it has been a year since anyone posted anything in this area.
I love the site, it is a great resource, but it would be nice if people posted more about current trends and places of interest that others here might enjoy. so the place becomes more of a community and not just a place to look for jobs (although this place is great for making new contacts).

I tried to start a inspirtational thread a few months back but no one seemed interested in posting anything except MARKB who was nice enough to send in 2 links one for a really great sculptor and another for a designer that has done a lot of cool stuff in the ID/Toy field.

Please post more stuff!

check out http://www.swearbear.com or http://www.Drastic.com for updates on my Swearbear vinyl figure design.

Please buy the gobler toy book too! http://www.goblertoys.com (I sculpted the remote controlled Komrade Kluck!)

nice site!

Hi,
I like the site.
Some suggestions:
I'd like a way to search for companies by location. Link lists are good, maybe add city and state next to company name. That way I can use the "find" button on my browser and find what I am looking for easier.
Also, maybe a newsletter or some alert when people post, that way the site stays active.
Nice work
:D

Hi Sarah,

Thanks for the feedback. You can currently search manufacturers by state, but not by city. Maybe in the future, I will update the "other" links list by state too.
